Since when do we plant
marihuana?

Cannabis is one of the oldest agricultural crops known to man. There are analyzes of marks left by ropes made with the plant on Chinese pieces produced 10,000 years ago. Therefore, archaeologists have concluded that human beings have interacted with this plant since the Neolithic period, the time of the first crops. In other words: we have used Cannabis in some form since the Stone Age.

If it's good,
why forbid?

The plant's ban, however, was not motivated by health issues, but by persecution of marginalized groups who used it socially. In the US, it was common for the drug to be used by Mexicans. With the Mexican Revolution, from 1910 on, the rejection of neighboring immigrants grew among the Americans, and marijuana became the target of films, books and reports that associated it with violence, murder and madness.

Marihuana
medicinal

Interest in the medicinal use of cannabis began to re-establish itself following the studies of the Bulgarian-Israeli chemist Raphael Mechoulam. He isolated for the first time two active principles from the plant. In 1963, he discovered and isolated cannabidiol (CBD). The following year, he isolated tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and identified the compound as responsible for the plant's intoxicating effects. A new class of substances was created: cannabinoids.
